JOWAI: Former Jowai South MDC Philemon Lyngdoh and former WJH BJP president JG Kyndiah joined the National People’s Party (NPP) along with 28 others in a meeting held here on Saturday.
The meeting was attended by State NPP President WR Kharlukhi besides other State leaders and members of the party from West Jaintia Hills.
The former UDP member, Lyngdoh, decided to join NPP after “observing the current political scenario in the State”.
He hoped that the NPP will be able to bring about all-round development to Meghalaya.
Speaking to media persons on the occasion, Kharlukhi informed that the NPP will go all out to strengthen the party in all the 11 districts of the State.
“We have decided to field candidates in all 60 Assembly constituencies in the 2018 elections,” he said.
