Education scam case continues

SHILLONG: The High Court of Meghalaya, which took up various affidavits filed on the discrepancies in the reports of the High Level Scrutiny Committee (HLSC) and CBI in the education scam case, stressed on the need for filing a synopsis in this regard.
The matter will come up for hearing on June 16.
Earlier, the Advocate General made a submission that most of the candidates whose cases were referred to in this regard were temporarily appointed for a period of 59 days or so but their services were extended from time to time in the interest of the students.
The court said the counsel appearing for the contesting parties, especially those who had filed the affidavits can submit a synopsis with clarification about the particulars of the referred candidates and the recommendations with the observations in the reports of the CBI and HLSC.
All the counsels have concluded their submissions and further clarifications and synopsis will be taken up on June 16.
Earlier, the counsel for the appellants in the case informed that one of them identified as Strong Pillar Tang had expired.
