More rain, strong wind predicted

SHILLONG: Shillong witnessed incessant rain since early Monday morning. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather warning stating that heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to occur in isolated places in Assam and Meghalaya from June 13-15.

A tree fell on a vehicle parked near the Shillong Municipal Board in the city on Monday.

A vehicle was completely damaged after a tree fell on it here on Monday afternoon.
The incident happened near the Shillong Municipal Board office where the vehicle (ML 05 C 9222) was parked. No casualty was reported.
IMD has issued a wind warning whereby a strong surface with wind speed of 30 to 40 Kmph gusting to 50 Kmph is likely to prevail over Meghalaya on June 13.
In the wake of these warnings, the route from Rhino Point to Shillong Civil Hospital becomes especially unsafe with branches of tress hanging dangerously along the way.
