Two wild elephants electrocuted

Madikeri, Jun 14 (UNI) Deaths of two wild elephants have reported at Kannagala village of Virajapet taluk in this district.
Forest officials said two female elephants aged 26 and 19 years died, while grazing in a private estate. According to report the elephants pulled a tree and the branch touched the power lines resulting in their electrocution.
According to a villager four elephants have died in the district recently due to various reasons, while one injured elephant taken shelter in a pond died due to wounds, other was dead when it got stuck in the mud.
A disappointed villager narrated that the human and animal conflict was increasing due to insufficient permanent measures taken by forest department and elephants are riding private estates and killing workers. UNI
