Theft menace torments citizens

SHILLONG: Theft cases are on the rise in the State as stealing instances are being reported continuously from the last couple of days.
B.K. Panigrahi lodged a complaint that on June 13, unknown miscreants stole 16 batteries from eleven garbage tipper trucks, which were parked at Anjalee Parking Lot, Shillong.
In another incident on June 12 night, unknown miscreants broke into the house of Panora Kharsati at Kyrdemkulai Ri Bhoi and stole cash Rs. 35,000.
Earlier on June 11 around 4 am, miscreants broke into a shop at Bholaganj Bazar in East Khasi Hills and stole some grocery items.
In another instance, Oinam Sanjoy Kumar lodged a complaint that on June 10, unknown miscreants broke into his residence at Lapalang and stole one mobile and cash Rs. 50,000.
Earlier on June 8 around 12.30 pm, Rishot Dhai stole cash Rs. 50,000 from the house of Jasmine Dan at Iawmulong, Nartiang.
Another report said that D. Thongni lodged a complaint that on June 7 at around 8.20 pm, one unidentified miscreant snatched her purse containing ATM card and mobile phone valued around Rs. 13,000 at Mawlai Phudmuri.
