NONGSTOIN: The District Court and Sessions Judge, West Khasi Hills had sentenced a man to seven years imprisonment for raping his own daughter in the year 2012.
The accused Krospar Shangpliang, a resident of Umdang village under Riangdo Police Outpost had raped his daughter on May 31, 2012 and after 5 years of trial, the Court has found him guilty and awarded him 7 years imprisonment.
The District and session judge on June 14, gave the order under 376 IPC to sentence Shangpliang 7 years of imprisonment with a fine of Rs 10000. The victim will receive a compensation of Rs 3 lakh from the State Government.
