UDP-HSPDP friendly fight in North Shillong

SHILLONG: The Coordination Committee of ‘new friends’ UDP and HSPDP met here on Friday to discuss the contentious issue of sharing of seats for the 2018 Assembly elections.
Sources informed that a decision has been reached that the alliance partners would engage in a friendly poll battle for the North Shillong seat. (Contd on P-5)

(Contd from P-1) However, a decision is yet to be reached on which party will contest the election from the Mylliem seat.
The sources further informed that both the parties have worked out modalities for sharing around 95 per cent of the seats.
Another meeting will be held soon to seal the seat arrangement, the sources added.
