Body of mentally ill woman found
A mentally unstable woman was found dead in the city on Saturday morning. Police said around 11 pm on Friday, the woman, identified as Ribelda Syiemlieh of Dangar village, was on the way to MIMHANS Shillong for treatment. However, on reaching 7th Mile, Upper Shillong, she went to answer the call of nature and went missing. Her body was recovered from a stream at 7th Mile around 5am on Saturday. Necessary formalities have been observed and matter is under investigation.

Youth missing
On June 16, one Bandasaitbor Thawmuid (19 yrs) was reported missing after he left his residence at Laitjem (East Khasi Hills) for St. Anthony’s College, Shillong in his Maruti Alto (ML-05N-5920).

SBI employees insulted
On June 16, one Niranjan Sahoo, Auditor of SBI, Smit Branch, allegedly insulted Violet Syiemlieh, Derick N Warbah, and Smotshon Nongspung, employees of SBI Smit Branch. Later a police complaint was filed.
