Assault on labourer condemned

NONGSTOIN: The Western Youth Federation (WYF), West Khasi Students’ Union (WKSU), Central Body and Hynniewtrep Youth Council (HYC), Nongstoin Circle condemned the act of assailant by a manager of Tantia Company.
Nicholas Harnet allegedly has assaulted one of the local labourers, who work in Nongstoin Urban Water Supply.
M/s. Tantia Constru-ctions Ltd, the Kolkata based Company that implements the Nongstoin Urban Water Scheme handed the project to Nicholas. The NGOs have claimed that Nicholas has beaten the labourer, who hailed from Umdein village (name withheld) black and blue due to which he had to stay home for months.
 They further informed that after the recovery when the labourer went back to work, the manager terminated him.  The NGOs, therefore, demand the Company to terminate the manager, and if the company failed to do so then they will have to close down the work progress of the Company.
