SHILLONG: Meghalaya Governor Banwarilal Purohit is yet to approve the recommendation of the Cabinet to withdraw administrator’s rule in the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC).
An official source said on Tuesday the matter is still pending with the Governor.
The Cabinet had on June 15 recommended withdrawal of administrator’s rule in the GHADC and subsequently, the file related to the matter was sent to the Governor for his approval.
The suspended NPP MDC, Boston Marak, whom the Opposition is projecting as the CEM, had claimed the support of 15 MDCs to form the next EC.
However, NPP has not made any move as it is awaiting the stand of the Governor on the withdrawal of administrator’s rule.
