NONGPOH: Concerned over the dilapidated condition of the existing National Highway-40 passing through Umsning, a conglomerate of headmen and prominent leaders of Umsning area on Monday formed a Joint Action Committee of the Headmen of Umsning Area (JACHUA) to pursue the repair work of the road.
“Despite repeated requests from various quarters, no initiative has been taken by the government to improve the condition of the road,” chairman of the JACHUA, Eddie G Kharbani lamented.
The committee will soon meet State Government officials to take up the issue of repair of the road from Nongthymmai Umsning up to Umtrew which is causing severe inconvenience to the daily commuters.
