SHILLONG: Nongkrem MDC HS Shylla confirmed on Monday that he will be allotted the post of Deputy CEM of KHADC.
Though he was with the UDP, Shylla extended support to KHADC CEM P N Syiem in the just concluded budget session of the Council.
Later, he announced his decision to quit UDP and joined the new political entrant, the People’s Democratic Front (PDF) to contest from Nongkrem.
However, Shylla rubbished allegations that he switched over to PDF coalition led by Syiem in order to secure the post of Deputy CEM.
Shylla asserted that he supported PDF as his supporters were angry at the decision of UDP president Donkupar Roy over the pre-poll alliance and they urged him to resign from UDP and join PDF.
In a statement to the media on Monday, Shylla said, “I will support PDF coalition so that I can be the solution and not a problem or a burden.”
