Teachers kill colleague opposing plan to loot fund

Guwahati: Three teachers including the head- master of a government-aided high school murdered another teacher, Lachit Bailung, of the school as he had opposed to the design hatched by his colleagues to embezzle Rs 25 lakh development fund provided to the school by Assam government.
The incident occurred in Dighaltarang High School at Doomdooma in Tinsukia district of eastern Assam.
Police have already arrested the three accused – headmaster Jogendra Handique, assistant teachers Munindra Baruah and Robin Handique. Of them, Robin Handique committed suicide inside the police station lock-up on Tuesday night.
The police informed that the accused persons had confessed to have murdered teacher Lachit Bailung.
