Labourers assaulted

SHILLONG: Two labourers were assaulted and another kidnapped by a group of miscreants at Umden Parish in Ri Bhoi on the night of June 26.
Police said that six unidentified miscreants entered the under construction hostel site at Umden Parish on June 26 and assaulted two workers causing injuries to them. The miscreants, who also looted the labourers taking away two cell-phones and Rs. 9,500, abducted one of the workers identified as Subroto Das. However, the victim managed to escape and returned to the Parish.
The injured were shifted to Civil Hospital Nongpoh.
