SHILLONG: The State Government is unlikely to move the governor for any special session or administrator’s rule in the KHADC after the rejection of a similar proposal for the GHADC.
The government is exploring ways and means to address the complaints of 12 opposition MDCs from UDP, HSPDP and the Congress against the manner in which the chairman of the KHADC conducted the session during the no-confidence motion on June 22.
However, the KHADC chief had justified the stand of the chairman by saying he had followed the rules and that the opposition had to stage a walkout since they did not have numbers.
An official source said on Thursday that the government has not decided anything on the future course of action as to whether to recommend administrator’s rule or call a special session to take up the no-trust motion in KHADC.
According to the source, since the governor did not approve the withdrawal of administrator’s rule in the GHADC as recommended by the Cabinet, the government will not hurry in taking any decision on the KHADC fearing lack of response from the governor.
“The government had consulted the Law Department on the KHADC, but as of now we have not taken any decision,” the source added.
