Stephen Hongray, IAS, assumed charge as the Principal Accountant General (Audit), Meghalaya on June 15 on his promotion to the Higher Administrative Grade. With his promotion, the office of the Accountant General (Audit), Meghalaya, Shillong has been upgraded to the Office of the Principal Accountant General (Audit), Meghalaya.
Local holiday
The Deputy Commissioner, East Jaintia Hills District, has informed that all State Government offices, Revenue, Judicial Court and Educational Institutions in the district will remain closed on July 24 on account of Behdeinkhlam Festival at Tuber Kmaishnong.

For public convenience and better administration, the State Government has notified the creation of a new police station at Chiading in East Garo Hills. On creation of the Chiading Police Station, the areas coming under its jurisdiction shall cease to be under Songsak and Williamnagar police stations.
