SHILLONG: Seat-sharing between the two pre-poll alliance partners – the United Democratic Party (UDP) and the Hill State People’s Democratic Party (HSPDP) – is nearing completion.
HSPDP MLA K.P Pangniang said necessary modalities for the alliance “are being worked out”.
Pangniang said the party is likely to make the seat arrangements public in two or three weeks. “We have given free hand to the presidents of both the parties as far as seat-sharing is concerned,” he added.
HSPDP and UDP, which had differences in the past, came together in May to announce the forging of an alliance with an aim to reap maximum benefits ahead of next year’s Assembly polls.
