Freight rates fall on excess trucks position

New Delhi, Jul 5 (PTI) Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section came down by Rs 1,000 at the local truck transport market in the national capital today following comfortable position of trucks against cargo movements. Transporters said huge position of trucks and restricted cargo movements led to the fall in freight rates. Delhi to Vijayawada, Bengaluru, Mysore and Coimbatore freight rates dropped by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 58,000, Rs 62,000, Rs 66,000 and Rs 72,000. Rates to Thiruvananthapuram, Mumbai, Pune and Goa also eased by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 83,000, Rs 27,000, Rs 29,000 and Rs 57,000. Following are today’s freights per 9-tonne load (in Rs): Jaipur 15,000 Hyderabad 56,000 Chandigarh 16,000 Vijayawada 58,000 Ludhiana 18,000 Bengaluru 62,000 Kanpur 19,000 Chennai 65,000 Indore 20,000 Mysore 66,000 Ahmedabad 22,000 Puducherry 68,000 Baroda 23,000 Coimbatore 72,000 Patna 26,000 Kochi 75,000 Surat 25,000 Thiruvananthapuram 83,000 Mumbai 27,000 Goa 57,000 Pune 29,000 Gwalior 13,000 Kolkata 31,000 Guwahati 61,000 PTI
