Stolen items recovered, accused arrested

SHILLONG: Shillong police on Tuesday recovered several items stolen from a paying guest house in the city last month.
SP (City) Vivek Syiem informed that an FIR was received at Laitumkhrah Police Station informing that unknown miscreants committed theft at a paying guest house at Upland Road, Laitumkhrah and stole two laptops, one mobile phone, one tablet, two laptop chargers and one mobile charger, a pair of clothes, shoes and one blue Safari trolley bag which belongs to the students staying at the guest house.
During investigation, with the help of the Special Cell, East Khasi Hills, on Tuesday night, police and personnel from the special cell apprehended one Audrick Nelson Nongrum (19) of Madanrting Block-F and on his leading recovered two laptops, a bag and a computer speaker from the house of the accused.
Further, two laptops with charger, one Safari trolley bag, one mobile, one trimmer among other items were also recovered.
The accused, who is a suspected heroin consumer, has been arrested.
