SHILLONG: The regional alliance comprising UDP and HSPDP may see another entrant if things go the right way.
UDP and HSPDP have decided to rope in the Khun Hynniewtrep National Awakening Movement (KHNAM).
UDP working president Jemino Mawthoh said a special committee of the alliance met on Tuesday evening and decided to appeal to KHNAM to join hands with the UDP-HSPDP alliance.
The meeting was attended by Donkupar Roy, Paul Lyngdoh, Bindo Lanong and Jemino Mawthoh, besides two other UDP leaders from Garo Hills.
“We want them to join us so that a strong regional force can be created which the people of the state have been wanting for long,” Mawthoh said.
UDP and HSPDP recently formed an alliance to take on Congress in the 2018 Assembly elections.
