TURA: Removal of power transformers by the MePDCL from as many as 20 villages in South West Garo Hills (SWGH) District has caused severe trouble to daily life of villagers especially school-going children who are finding it very difficult to prepare for their half yearly examinations sans electricity

According to aggrieved people, power transformers have been removed from Sulguri, Kumuli, Latigri, Bollonggre, Amjana and other interior villages without replacement being put in place by the MePDCL.

The villagers in their complaint to the concerned sub-divisional officer (SDO) of MePDCL, Ampati Sub-Division of the district have urged the official to look into the matter at the earliest and to make necessary arrangement so that power supply can be restored to their villages.
