SHILLONG: After a brief lull, a case of arson has once again been reported in the State.
On Tuesday, around 10.30 pm, unknown miscreants broke open the lock of the office of the SDO (PHE), Nongpoh and tried to set it on fire.
The main door, curtain, carpet and wire from the meter box were gutted in the incident. Police recovered a broken bulb with 10 ml of petrol and burnt cloth from the place of occurrence.
Meanwhile, in Shillong, on the same day, around 10 pm, police recovered 17 bottles filled with petrol from Umkdait, Nongmynsong.
