SHILLONG: The West Shillong Block Congress Committee has called for an investigation into the recent incident in which gold earrings of a six-year-old girl were snatched while she was playing.
The robbery took place on July 5 at Lumpyllon in Lower Mawprem when the girl was playing with her friends in the neighbourhood.
Condemning the incident, the West Shillong Block Congress Committee also asserted that Donald Marbaniang, a close aide of West Shillong MLA Paul Lyngdoh should be interrogated.
The general secretary of West Shillong Block Congress Committee, J. John Syiemlieh, said in a press release that the incident has disturbed parents.
In June, a lady from Smit village was grievously injured when a robber chopped her ears and fingers to get the gold ornaments.
