NONGPOH: Shillong MP Vincent Pala on Thursday inaugurated the new college building of Ri Bhoi Synod College at Umsaitsning village under Ri Bhoi district.
The college building was constructed under MP scheme 2012-2013 at the estimated amount of Rs. 40 lakh. This is the first ever private college which was set up by the Ri Bhoi Presbyterian Synod with an aim to promote quality education among the youths of the district and state as a whole.
Pala said he is happy to associate with the project and added that the initiative will benefit the local youths.
He also recalled the contribution of missionaries in promoting education in the state and country as a whole.
Pala asked the Ri Bhoi Presbyterian Synod and the College Governing Board to continue to promote quality education.
Pala also assured to provide 10 computers to the college to help the students to excel in computer education.
Among others who were present include local MDC of Umsning, Donkupar Sumer, Rev. L.S Nongphlang, Rev. P.W Pnar, and local headmen. The inaugural function was presided over by Rev. B.R Pamshong, who is the senior pastor of Ri Bhoi Presbyterian Synod.
