TURA: Tura police on Friday took into custody a 55-year-old man allegedly working as a school bus conductor after a six-year-old girl was allegedly raped by him inside the compound of a well known school in the heart of the town.
The little girl, who studies in another institution, was reportedly lured into the compound of New Horizon School at Walbakgre area on Thursday by the accused who worked as a bus conductor in the school.
However, the school authorities claim that the accused had been dismissed from service a few months back on account of his alcoholism.
The 55-year-old man identified as Amed K Sangma took advantage of the minor who used to come to the school playground to play. The victim studied in another institution while the wife of the accused reportedly worked in the school where the attack took place.
On Thursday he lured the child to a secluded spot in the compound and raped her. She narrated the incident to her family and the next day angry citizens caught hold of the accused and handed him over to the Araimile police.
