UDP-HSPDP seat-sharing meet next week

SHILLONG: The UDP-HSPDP alliance meet will be held next week to finalise seat adjustment between the parties.
“We are yet to reach an understanding in one or two seats but we have almost reached an agreement for the rest,” UDP president Donkupar Roy said on Friday.
He said while in Khasi-Jaintia Hills, both the regional parties will have alliance in all the 36 seats, in Garo Hills, UDP will contest in 12 seats and GNC in eight whereas discussion will continue for the share of seats in the remaining six seats.
The alliance hopes to announce the names of candidates by August to prepare early for the 2018 Assembly polls.
