SHILLONG: Forum of BSNL Unions/Associations of non-executives and Executives, North East-I circle, with headquarter in Shillong and BSNL Employees Union (BSNLEU) staged a one-day hunger strike on Thursday on the issue of wage revision and pension revision for BSNL non-executives and executives.

The forum will go on a strike on July 27 again to press their demand to settle wage revision and pension revision to BSNL employees with effect from January 1, 2017.

The forum also demanded for calculation of pension contribution on actual basic pay, implementation of 30 per cent superannuation benefits to the directly recruited employees of BSNL and withdrawal of the Corporate Office letter dated 8.5.2017, banning all trade union activities in BSNL.

The BSNL employees are irked at the policies of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) which, according to them, is resorting to large scale demolition of Public Sector Undertakings.
