Guwahati trader flees without paying rent

SHILLONG: Jagdish Prasad Goenka of RPG Complex, Keating Road, lodged a complaint against Shashi Narayan of Assam for not paying the rent since March 2015.
Goenka had let-out a portion of their building to Narayan of Dona Towers, Dispur, for running a branded store viz., ‘Puma’. However, the tenant has not paid the electricity bills and a portion of the rent amounting to Rs. 13 lakh (approx).
On June 28, the complainant saw that the showroom had downed their shutter and were packing their goods with an intention to leave the premises without paying the outstanding dues and to prevent them from leaving he locked the showroom.
However, on June 29, he found that the lock has been removed.
