Postal office conducts Swachh Bharat Pakhwada

SHILLONG: The Office of the Chief Postmaster General, North East Circle, Shillong along with its 7 seven divisions, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur, Dharmanagar, and Agartala observed the Swachh Bharat Pakhwada from July 1 to 15 as part of “Swachh Bharat Mission.”
There were various activities which have been entrusted by the Department of Posts,
Government of India for the postal circles to take up.
A statement of chief post master general said that the North East Postal Circle has taken part in all the activities and on the first day, there was a brief on the importance of the Swachh Bharat Pakhwada to the staff by the Chief Postmaster General, North East Circle which was later followed by a pledge by all the officers and staff.
There was a cleaning of the outer/inner premises of all postal units and centres in the whole circle by all the staff members which also include cleaning of toilets, disposal of old records, and disposal of obsolete items.
Head of the Circle has also reviewed and ensured that there will be proper access to the toilets in all the postal units and centers for the disabled staff.
Letter writing completion was organised at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Kailashahar on the topic “Write a letter to a Postal Authority about Swachh Bharat Abhiyan conducted at a local Post Office which you have seen”.
Planting of saplings was also conducted at the circle.
