GUWAHATI: With rash driving by bikers creating menace in the capital city here, Guwahati City Police on Saturday launched a drive to curb the menace and in the process ended up detecting 483 violations and realising fine of Rs 87,200. The operation parties also lodged 111 FIRs.
The police informed that intensified drive was launched against rash and negligent driving as well as sound producing bikes in the city. The drive was conducted by traffic police officers and personnel under the supervision of Additional DCPs and ACPs of the city police.
The driver which was conducted under the instruction f the City Police Commissioner Hiren Nath, resulted in detection of 56 modified bikes, detention of 46 modified bikes. Four cases of dangerous driving were detected and Rs 2800 realised as fine in these cases.
