12-year-old seriously injured in road mishap

NONGPOH: A twelve-year – old boy was serous injured when a speeding Tata Mobile vehicle hit him while he was walking on his way back home from school at around 2.30 P.M. on Tuesday

The driver of the Tata Mobile vehicle sped away while some eyewitness could have marked   the number of the vehicle.

The right leg and hand of the seriously-injured boy were broken. The boy was identified as Pynshailang Makri, a student of Class – II at St. Paul RCLP School, Nongpoh. He is a resident of Umskun village.

The boy was immediately rushed to Civil Hospital Nongpoh from where he was referred to NEIGRIMS because of critical injuries at his right leg and hand.

A teacher, Probina Mukhim who witnessed the incident, said rash driving led to the accident. She said the vehicle was at very high speed and the driver could not control it after dashing at the boy. The vehicle was bearing registration No.ML 10 – 7733.

Though the Police rushed to the spot for investigation and they only found the boy in a very critical condition.
