State Govt to continue ops in Garo Hills

SHILLONG: There will be no let-up in operations against militants in Garo Hills, Chief Secretary Y. Tsering said on Tuesday.
With the sustained operations, the situation has improved in Garo Hills but the government will not be complacent, Tsering told reporters.
He also appreciated the efforts of DGP SB Singh and his team in maintaining law and order, especially in the Garo Hills region.
To a question, the chief secretary said the issues related to the rehabilitation of surrendered militants are under the examination of the department concerned.
