Support to BSNL strike
Meghalaya Joint Council of Trade Unions & Associations (MJCTU&A) has extended its support to the striking executive and non-executive employees of all BSNL bodies of N.E. Circle on Thursday.
Rice, sugar released
The Deputy Commissioner (Supply) of West Khasi Hills has informed that rice under NFSA scheme, 2013 for the month of July, 2017 quota, for AAY, Priority Household (PHH) and Non-NFSA within Nongstoin Sadar Sub-Division and Pariong Wholesaler Center and sugar for the month of February, 2017 within Nongstoin Sadar Sub-Division has been released.

Registration of pet dogs
Under Section 128 of the M.M. Act, all residents within the Shillong Municipal Area are required to register their pet dogs with the Municipal Board and to obtain dog tags on payment of fees of Rs. 200. All pet owners are to ensure that their dogs are not straying. Dogs found without tags will be treated as strays and necessary action will be taken as per Municipal Act. This was informed by the Chief Executive Officer, Shillong Municipal Board. 

Marriage registration
The views and suggestions in writing on the Draft Meghalaya Compulsory Registration of Marriage (Amendment) Rules, available at the web-site http://meghalaya.gov.in. is extended for another period of 7 days from the date of publication of this press communiqué and may be sent to the Under Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, Excise, Registration, Taxation & Stamps Department, Room No. 510, Meghalaya Secretariat, Main Building, Shillong.
