RESUBELPARA: Chief Minister Mukul Sangma has asked all officials to give more attention to the new districts and provide all support for their development.
Addressing a gathering at the celebration of the 5th Foundation Day of North Garo Hills on Thursday, Sangma said it is the duty of the Government and the people to provide “necessary handholding” to the new districts.
“The State has gone through challenging times and instead of focusing on development (it) had to spend (time) on resolving problems,” said Sangma at the programme that was held in Resubelpara, the district headquarters.
A word of caution was also sounded by the chief minister to the bureaucrats in the district. He said if they fail to execute their duty in taking the districts on development path, then “we will all be confronted by a situation where everyone will suffer”.
“We took the first step five years back, this is just a beginning and there is much more to be done,” asserted the chief minister.
