Review meeting on proper implementation of govt schemes

JOWAI: For proper implementation of Government Schemes in West Jaintia Hills District, the Meghalaya State Development Reform’s Commission held a review meeting with the 17 departments of the District on the implementation of the schemes.
The meeting was attended by Sengman R Marak, Ex- MLA, Co-Chairman, Meghalaya State Development Reform’s Commission, Suraj Prakash Thapa, Co- Chairman, MSDRC, Vajay Raj, Vice-Chairman, MSDRC, Lamphrang Blah, MDC KHADC, Vice- Chairman , MSDRC, Dr. Fenela Lyngdoh, Non-Official, Member, Meghalaya State Development Reforms, Legal forum, R.Rapthap, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, West Jaintia Hills District, F.M Dopth, MCS, Member Secretary Meghalaya State Development Reform, D.M Wallang and S. C Laloo, Additional Deputy Commissioners of West Jaintia Hills. 
The presentation on the activities, project and schemes undertaken by the various departments and budget allocations during 2015 -16, 2016- 2017 were also being highlighted by the concerned departments. Implementations of the Schemes and problems faced by the Departments were some of the agendas discussed during the meeting. The Commission has asked the departments to publicise the scheme generated by them for the benefit of all the beneficiaries and also to organise frequent workshops and awareness programmes for the benefit of all. The Commission also stressed on need of co-operation of the various departments  with regard to providing space in their notice board for displaying of various schemes where ever possible to let the people know about the same.  
SDRC visits various depts
After a long day review meeting held on Thursday with the Heads of various Departments in West Jaintia Hills District, the team of State Development Reform’s Commission conducted a spot visits to various project works undertaken by different departments in the District. The SDRC team visited the Superintendent Children Home (Boys) at Chutwakhu and Children Home (girls) at Mihmyntdu, Lumpyrtuh and interacted with the District Child Protection Officer and Social Welfare Officer.
The team also visited Umladkhur Village under Amlarem C&RD Block to meet the smoke fish farmers. At Shangpung village under Laskein C&RD Block the team visited Khiehmushut fish sanctuary site, poultry farm and paddy fish culture farmers. The team also visited the Horticulture office at Thadlaskein C&RD Block.
