3 ultras arrested with arms and ammunition in Assam

GUWAHATI: Assam Police on Monday arrested two hardcore cadres of the banned National Democratic Front of Bodoland (Songbijit faction) and an NSCN(K) cadre in two separate operations in Assam on Monday.

The two NDFB (S) cadres were arrested  by police from Roumari Reserve Forest in Dibrugarh district of Assam. Police also recovered one 9 mm pistol with nine rounds of ammunition and one .22 pistol with ten rounds of ammunition. The arrested NDFB(S) cades were identified as Ranjt Daimari and Prakash Bodo.

Meanwhile, in a separate operation, Assam police arrested one NSCN(K) cadre identified as Pong Gong Konyak, from Janki Pathar at Sonari close to Assam- Nagaland boundary.  Police recovered one .22 pistol with two rounds of live ammunition and a bottle grenade from his possession.
