SHILLONG: The UDP Ranikor circle welcomed over 100 Congress supporters to its fold at a meeting held at Phlangdiloin, South West Khasi Hills on Saturday.
Irked with the present MLA and Cabinet Minister MM Danggo, the supporters deserted the Congress accusing the local legislator of not bringing in developmental works to the constituency.
The ex-Congress supporters contended that the road from Lad Nongstoin till Phlangdiloin is incomplete since many years. At the same time, they asserted that the local MLA did not do anything to improve the education scenario in the area.
They claimed that more Congress supporters will join the regional party soon.
