SHILLONG: The Fifth Pay Commission will submit its report to Chief Minister Mukul Sangma on Wednesday.
An official source said though the submission of the report was scheduled for Monday, it was rescheduled because the chief minister was out of station.
It is yet to be known how long it will take to implement the recommendation of the Pay Commission considering the poor financial position of the State.
Sources said since the Assembly polls are round the corner, the government is expected to announce the pay revision within this year.
While the last pay revision was 32 per cent, this time it may be between 20 and 25 per cent, sources added.
The seventh central pay panel had recommended 23 per cent hike for employees.
