SHILLONG: The Indian Trade Union Congress (INTUC) will conduct a signature campaign to recognise Khasi language in the State and Central government offices in the country.
Addressing a press conference on Monday, Simon Dohling, president of the trade union’s Meghalaya unit said, that special status should be accorded to Khasi language in all the state and central government employees.
Demanding for enhancement of minimum wages of daily labourers in the State, he said, “The Labour Commissioners do not publish in the newspapers the labour wage.”
Besides, they have demanded to stop the ATM transaction penalty with immediate effect.
The INTUC members have informed that INTUC national leader, G. Sanjeeva Reddy, who is the president of INTUC has “agreed in principle to visit the state.”
On the other hand, the state INTUC members have denied any links with Dinesh Sharma, who claimed to be the national president of INTUC.
Dohling said that he is not a part of INTUC and they do not recognise him.
