Fraud
On August 2, Ashok Choudhury lodged a complaint that Manoj Gupta and his associates viz. Rupam Nath, Sneha Deka, Jitesh and Rahul cheated the complainant and others by luring them into a reality show India’s Big Superstar and took Rs. 2,500 from each applicant for the audition. The complainant was supposed to get Rs. 2 to 4 lakh from them. However, till date no payment was made.

Accident
A coal laden truck (AS-01EC-2559) capsized at Umbang in Ri Bhoi on August 2 around 5 am. The trucker fled after the incident and the matter is under enquiry.

Theft
On August 1 at 3.30 am, miscreants stole one Mahindra pick-up (ML-10A-9010) belonging to Prinda Shylla from Umsaw, Nongkharai in Ri Bhoi.
Cherryolin Lamin of Pynursla PHC, East Khasi Hills, lodged a complaint that on July 29 night, miscreants stole Rs. 10000 from the PHC.
On July 19 around 12.30 am, miscreants broke into the house of Someswari Boro at Berupara village in West Garo Hills and stole Rs. 11,240 cash and one cell-phone.

Assault
On August 1 around 10.30 pm, unidentified miscreants assaulted Mintu Haloi (30), driver of truck (NL-01N-3451) at Mawryngkneng, Thangshalai, Shillong By-pass. Victim sustained injuries and was admitted at CH Shillong. Matter is under inquiry.
