Patna :  All public and private schools here were closed on Friday after heavy rains lashed the Bihar capital, inundating most of the low lying areas and leaving roads waterlogged, officials said.
“Patna district Magistrate Sanjay Agrawal has ordered closure of all schools on August 4 to provide relief to children in view of heavy rains since Thursday night,” the official said here.
Several school premises are also inundated following rains in the last 12 hours.
According to officials, heavy rains affected normal life in Patna. People have been trying to cope with waterlogged roads and streets here.
Waterlogging in posh localities such as Kankarbagh, Rajender Nagar, Patliputra Colony, Kidwaipuri and Kadamkuan has again exposed the tall claims of Patna municipal corporation that all measures have been taken to deal with the situation.
According to the Met department, Patna has received 106 mm of rain till Friday morning. (IANS)
