NEW DELHI/AHMEDABAD/MUMBAI: The Congress in all States erupted in protests against the attack on Rahul Gandhi’s car in Gujarat.
Scores of Congress activists in the political epicenter of the country demonstrated near the BJP headquarters and Gujarat Bhavan on Saturday and cried slogans against the incident, which the party members termed as “attack on democracy”.
“The BJP leadership should not force the Congress to cross the line by attacking him (Gandhi),” said Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Ajay Maken.
In Gujarat too, the Congress was up in arms. Members of the opposition party blocked the roads and burnt effigies of BJP as part of their protests against attack on Gandhi’s vehicle at Dhanera on Friday.
In Maharashtra it was ‘Gandhigiri’ by Congress workers that marked the day of protests. Youth Congress workers in Mumbai showered flowers on the BJP office in suburban Ghatkopar here on Saturday. (PTI)
