SHILLONG: The annual meeting of the Central Puja Committee, Shillong, was held on the Jagannath Mandir premises on Sunday, where office bearers, executive committee, advisors and president and the secretary of various puja committees were present.
General Secretary Jayanta Lal Das submitted a GS report along with the audited account of CPC for the financial year 2016-2017.
This year, drum beating competition will be held on September 29 on the premises of Rilbong Durga Puja Committee. The CPC will organise a get-together of harmony and they have also invited several dignitaries.
Various competitions like best pandal, lighting, discipline, decoration, idol, hospitality and reception, cleanliness will be conducted and prizes will be distributed after the Durga Puja celebrations.
The CPC will celebrate its silver jubilee this year, which will start in September and the closing ceremony will be held in August 2018. Programmes like International Drum Beat Competition , International Symposium and many other activities are incuded in the silver jubilee celebration.
