SHILLONG: The education cell of Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) has asked the directorate of health services (DHS) to take action against Megna Das whose name featured in the list of candidates for MBBS and BDS seats in the Scheduled Caste category despite not being a resident of the state.
The list was published by the directorate.
In a press statement issued here, it demanded that the directorate should take action against her as per law.
The union alleged that Das claimed to be a resident of the state even as her father is a retired staff of Meghalaya House, Delhi.
The union has urged the authorities concerned to investigate the matter.
Members of the FKJGP had earlier asked DHS director R.O. Budnah to remove her name from the state quota list.
Following the allegations, Budnah clarified that the list of candidates published was for screening only and it was not the final list for allotment of MBBS and BDS seats. He said the final list of eligible candidates would be published subject to production/verification of all related relevant documents as was asked for in the advertisement.
