`GST facilitates lower prices of laptops’

SHILLONG: The price of Laptops has slightly gone down with the impact of the Goods and Services Tax (GST).

Aneesh Kalra, operational manager, HP world in Shillong said, “After GST, the price of laptops has slightly gone down; it is beneficial for the consumer.”

It may be noted that GST Council has fixed the rate for laptops and desktops at 18 per cent. The GST rate for all electronic item is in the range of  18%-28%.

HP, a leading manufacturer in hardware and software components has opened its HP world exclusive store in the city, which is the first in the state on Thursday.

Speaking on the performance of HP world in India’s IT market, he said, “HP is doing a brilliant job in India, as it is a premium brand. In India HP is the best even the service centres is an asset.”  “HP is very competitive and it is coming up with new things and ideas,” he added.

Commenting on offers of HP world, he said, “”Peace of mind” is an offer provided by HP which the customers can avail to extend additional warranty to the laptop. The HP keeps coming with their schemes.” Other offers include six months EMI on credit cards and 0 Down payment option.

Kalra pointed out to a varied range of HP products with HP Omen series (starting from Rs 90,000) completely for gamers, HP Spectre for people who travel termed as the apple of HP which is a , high premium brand 360 degrees rotatable, very light weight it is almost like a status symbol( above Rs 1 lakh) besides other products.  The store belonged to Jaya Kalra, who is an artist and also has an art gallery.
