SHILLONG: Meghalaya police has recently handed over the list of 139 cadres to ANVC-B during the re-verification of the additional list of 30 more cadres.
Former general secretary of ANVC-B, Deepan G Momin, said the disbanded group also submitted the account numbers of those cadres that were available with them.
However, they said the package they anticipated was not Rs1.5 lakh but Rs 2.5 lakh as was agreed by the government representatives before disbanding in December 2014.
“It is strange that the names of the commander-in-chief, general secretary, organising secretary, etc of former ANVC-B were not
included in the first list of 139 cadres. But the names of the commander-in-chief and organising secretary are included in the second list. My name is still not included in either list,” he said.
Alleging that the people who made the list did not verify the list of cadres and officers of the organisation before listing it out, Momin said the process of re-verification of the list has been affected and that it was a waste of government’s time and money and also extra burden to the police department. The disbanded group also alleged that SK Jain, former DGP, who made the list had been very partial towards them which is now affecting the implementation of the agreement and disbursing the rehabilitation packages among the cadres.
The group leader also made it clear that they would extend full cooperation so that the agreement did not fail in any way. “We are hopeful that my name will be included in the upcoming list as the list itself shows that the attempt was made to divide the leadership of our organization at various levels,” he said.
