Freedom fest to conclude with grand finale on I-Day

TURA: The ongoing Freedom Fest organized with an aim to propagate the spirit of independence will conclude in a grand finale with the finals of the Freedom Challenge Cup and under – 15 Bhaichung Bhutia Champions Cup on Tuesday.

Indian football legend Bhaichung Bhutia will witness the event and announce the grand launch of Bhaichung Bhutia Football Schools – a William Initiative, an academy that aims to foster football talents of Garo Hills.

While a total of 22 teams took part in the Freedom Challenge Cup, 16 teams participated in the Bhaichung Bhutia Champions Cup.

In Bhaichung Bhutia Champions Cup, Boca juniors will clash against Chandmary FC in the final while the winners of the two semi-final matches that are being played on Sunday will meet in the finals of the Freedom Challenge Cup.

The final match of under-12 futsal will be held Monday between Young Stars United and Chandmary FC. The final of inter-locality women’s football titled – Pink Brigade will also be held on the same day.

The matches will start from 3:30 pm onwards.
