SHILLONG: Mawlai MDC P. T Sawkmie has condoled the death of three persons in the tragic accident near Raj Bhavan in the city on Saturday.
In a statement on Sunday, Sawkmie prayed for the speedy recovery of those who were injured.
He also asked the State Government to provide compensation to the families of the victims.
LJP shocked
The Lok Janshakti Party Meghalaya unit said it was shocked and surprised to hear the fatal accident that took place near the Governor’s House in Shillong on Saturday.
The LJP offered its condolences to the families who lost their loved ones in the accident.
“This reflects the negligence of the Government of Meghalaya especially the Forest Department. We call upon the forest department to ensure that such incidents do not occur in the future,” an LJP statement said.
