Stakeholders’ meet over Mairang market complex

MAIRANG: A first meeting with stakeholders of U Tirot Sing Market Complex was held at the SDO office in Mairang civil sub-division on Thursday.
In the first part of the meeting, J. Kharkongor, Project Manager, NERCoRMP gave a presentation of the plan on the construction of the market complex. The project is funded by NEC Shillong.
The total cost of the project is Rs 12.86 crore out of which the cost for civil work is Rs 9.8 crore. The first instalment received is over Rs 3 crore. The project manager said as of now only one-fourth of the market will be dismantled and shopkeepers will be shifted to a nearby space. The expected time for completion of the project is 24 months.
