Eight KSU members released on bail

SHILLONG:  After remaining in jail for more than two months, eight KSU members who were arrested in connection with arson cases in East Khasi Hills, were released on bail on Monday and Tuesday.

Five KSU members who were released on bail by the Special Court   were arrested earlier in connection   with the arson cases under Rynjah Police Station.

They were arrested for their involvement in throwing a petrol bomb in Rynjah Police Station besides torching a police bus in Nongmynsong.

Sources informed that the Special Court granted the bail to five KSU members with a strict condition that they should not be involved in similar   offices again and the violation of the conditions may lead to cancellation of bail.

On the other hand, three other KSU members were also released on bail by different courts for their involvement in similar arson cases in East Khasi Hills district.

The eight KSU members who were released on bail included Shanbok Kharmawphlang, Kynpham Marbaniang, Seiborlang Pakyntein, Reagan Mawrie, Alkwiz Kharbani, Samuel Lyngdoh, Eric Nongkynrih and Allanlas Khyllait.
